BETTER WORLD FOUNDATION
Better World (BW) focuses on assisting Egyptian youths advance themselves to become not only more professionally desirable, but also constructive members of society.
Our foundation, with the utilization of experienced volunteers, high-quality equipment, and established methods, began its aim by offering courses in the critical areas of academics and technology. The foundation then expanded its scope with a vocational training program Called “International Center for Technology” ICT; which concentrating on teaching world languages, international skills, and a proactive attitude to more than 1500 people.
Better World has now expanded to include other vitally important programs:
Environmental Awareness-Encouraging solutions for a cleaner environment through:
Ø A three-year exposure and educational program.
Ø A proactive, hands-on participation system that reinforces its benefits for the community.
Social Awareness - Bolstering equality and humanity by:
Ø Fostering a support system that offers assistance in a comfortable, non-threatening atmosphere.
Ø Preparing, gathering, and analyzing informative statistics that will enhance understanding of affirmative, constructive options to social issues.
Micro Finance Project - An innovative step to encourage young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. The program will:
Ø Encourage, initiate, train, direct, and advise from the planning stage to implementation and sustainability.
Ø Enhance the overall economic situation in the private and public sectors.
Considered the first student-initiated Non-Governmental Organization in the region, BW is changing the professional outlook for hundreds of Egyptians every year. Also it is selected as the first winner project of the “Global Engagement Summit” GES in Chicago.
The BW Foundation currently offers services to more than 3000 public university students and recent graduates. With a balanced organizational membership (50% Egyptian and 50% foreign), it offers students a multi-national and interdisciplinary experience.
Better World also provides opportunities for inter-cultural relations to develop. Within the past three years, over 300 volunteers from various countries have cooperatively worked together to improve the lives of Egyptian youth.
For our Annual Event, we invite selected beneficiaries, all volunteers, the AUC community, and public universities students and graduates to the beginning of our new productive and exciting year.
